Simple sans être simpliste, et efficace. Le concert de The Prize montre un groupe qui s’éclate sur scène, et le public du coup s’éclate aussi !

Ce qu'on retient par dessus tout c'est la parfaite symbiose entre le guitariste et la chanteuse, qui semblent être chacun la pièce qui manquait au puzzle de l'autre. Un tandem est né, et il en résulte un sacré premier album.

The Prize est un projet qui a su trouver son équilibre entre hard-rock (pour le côté mélodique et entraînant) et metal la puissance de feu d'une rythmique solide). C'est aussi l'occasion d'en prendre plein la face grâce au jeu d'un Christophe Godin inspiré qui, s'il est capable de nous retourner le cerveau par sa science du solo imparable, a trouvé le sweet spot pour ne pas passer pour un branleur de manche gratuit, mais pour un vrai guitar hero au sens noble du terme.

The Prize’ is also provided with a very fat production. Listening to all this is just ear candy. Sometimes there are great progressive hooks, or the music leans into a more groove metal direction, while the next minute you are in a straighter hard and heavy domain. The band has managed to find a nice line between all these genres and knows how to weave them together seamlessly.

The PRIZE has managed to make a wonderfully grooving and varied album and I even sense here and there a small parallel with Jinjer. I already knew that Maggy Luyten has a great voice, but her collaboration with these great musicians, Christophe, Ivan and Aurel who really know what they are doing, takes Maggy’s performance to the next level.

The band delivers top-notch song writing and every song surprises me. This band should be on all major metal festivals
